It does the job but ...

Overall, I'm happy with what I got, considering the fact I couldn't find any alternatives. 3 starts because:
1) Even though swivel comes with its own base it raises seat by 25mm or slightly more. For a person of 164cm height that's a problem (legs too short:) ) so I had to cut through a plastic floor and mount base directly to a van floor. You will need some washers (~5mm) as there are cables and floor ribs. Don't understand why they provide a base. Could've reuse an original one. Bad design as for me.
2) Swivel has 3 plastic stoppers + locking mechanism when locked for driving but it squeaks when you break or accelerate. Haven't figured out what makes this noise but it easily reproducible on stationary vehicle. Maybe I was a bit unlucky here.

Mk8 Transit Swivel

The swivel is very sturdy and well made. The fitting instructions could be better. It’s basically a diagram labelled in French with English translations added. Lowering the handbrake wasn’t that easy. The handbrake cover fixing bracket needed cutting to remove it past the brake cable. Wit a bit of thought it was possible to cut the bracket and cover down and refit them with the handbrake lowered.
The battery terminals were worryingly close to the underside of the swivel and the battery cover wouldn’t initially fit back on. With the rubber mat under the battery cut out it gave about 2 or 3 mm extra. With the strengthening ribs on top of the cover cut off the cover then fitted under the swivel and kept the terminals away from the swivel base.
Fitting was a lot more involved than I expected, but once sorted they work well and feel solid when locked in the driving position with no squeaks.

Manufactured in France by Scopema, the RIB swivel plate for campervans gets lots of praise on the various forums. In our own experience, we have found these seat swivels to be very robust and rattle-free.

The offset feature of this particular swivel means that the pivot point is offset from the centre by a few centimetres towards the handbrake side of their seat. This means that the seat finishes up facing backwards a bit further from the door. The main advantage is that seats with armrests will spin around more easily. If you have a double seat swivel on the passenger side you should choose the non-offset version, otherwise, there won't be enough room for both seats to swivel backwards.

To rotate the seat, the engine must be turned off, vehicle put in gear and the handbrake released temporarily. Once the seat is facing the rear re-engage handbrake. For seats fitted with up/down height adjustment, you will find that you probably need to pump up the seat height to allow the seat to rotate without the grey plastic trim around the base catching on anything.

Notes on fitting:

Please note on some vans it appears that the plastic handbrake covering rubs on the swivel and may need to be removed.
