Tailgate curtain.

Well I was going away and needed it urgently. It basically didn’t fit a VW Shuttle. The bend was in the wrong place for the windscreen wiper and the length tip and bottom was too long. Pretty rubbish. Be very careful what you order. No warnings in the ordering process. I had to bend it myself and cut to size. Doesn’t look brilliant and coat a lot. Real shame. I have bought things from Kiravans before and they have been quality.

Thanks for the review Alan. The tailgate curtain should fit according to the specifications detailed on the product page. The bottom rail might need a small amount of adjustment, but nothing significant.

Blackout and Cab Curtains

Kiravans blackout campervan curtains have a black finish on one side and grey on the opposite. They are double-lined for exceptional thermal insulation and a darker window covering than standard curtains.

These are very high-quality curtains manufactured to our specification to ensure a wonderful finish in your campervan. (Our manufacturer also supplies curtains to Mercedes incorporating the same fabric and design!)

The fabric is stretchy with a fairly dense weave, giving very good light blocking and excellent thermal properties. The stretch feature of these curtains allows up to 20% extra height. The aluminium rails are robust and feature an attractive bevelled edge for a professional finish. Rails come pre-drilled and pre-bent for each window location to make fitting nice and simple.

Notes on fitting:

Kits for windows with wiper: This kit includes a curved top rail designed to fit inside the window indentation, with the slider groove facing towards the front of the van. The lower rail fits with its groove facing forward, towards the front of the van. It comes pre-bent to accommodate the wiper motor housing box, but since the motor housing is slightly offset, you may need to adjust the bend slightly by hand for a perfect fit.

Kits for windows without wiper - This kit will include a curved top rail to fit inside the window indentation and a straight lower rail to fit flat on the main door panel. The lower rail sits with the slider groove facing forwards towards the front of the van.

T6 vans - note that unlike T5 tailgates where the rail ends sit flush against the metalwork, the T6 door design results in a very slight gap at the ends of the bottom rail. This can be fixed by gently bending the ends inward.
